"Stabbing Victim Dies from Injuries"
 

Los Angeles – Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of a male, Vietnamese, 23 years of age. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
On Sunday morning, June 10, 2001at approximately 5:40 a.m., Rampart Patrol Officers were dispatched to 8th Street and Catalina Street. Upon arrival, officers found the victim on the ground. The victim sustained several stab wounds to his upper torso.
LAFD Rescue ambulance responded to the location and transported the victim to USC Medical Center. The victim succumbed to his injuries on Sunday June 10, 2001 at approximately 1:00 p.m.
The investigation has revealed the victim was involved in an altercation in front of the Vitamin E Club at 8th Street and Catalina Street. The suspect is described as a male Asian, 20/25 years of age, with a possible first name of "Jimmy." The suspect’s vehicle is described as a possible 90/95 Hyundai, possible creme in color.
The motive for the stabbing is unknown.
