San Pedro – On Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at 7:30 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Community Police Station will host a Stop the Violence Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Boys and Girls Club located at 1200 Cabrillo Avenue in San Pedro.
In the recent months, San Pedro Area has experienced a rash of shootings. The San Pedro community is invited to participate in a forum to discuss how to decrease the escalating violence in this "Emergency Meeting." Guest speakers from the community will be sharing their experiences ranging from how to take back the neighborhood from the criminals to what to do as a witness to a crime.
Harbor Area Commanding Officer Captain Paul M. Kim along with Harbor Area Homicide Detectives, Special Enforcement Unit, Crisis Response Team and Senior Lead Officers will be present to take suggestions from the community members.
