Street Racing Leaves One Woman Dead After Being
Struck by One of the Vehicles Involved

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver(s) involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a female pedestrian.

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, around 10:00 p.m., two vehicles were street racing, a grey Dodge Charger and a dark colored Chevrolet Tahoe both traveling southbound Normandie Avenue at 66th Street. The victim walking outside of the unmarked crosswalk westbound Normandie Avenue near 66th Street, was struck by the grey Dodge Charger.

The driver failed to stop and render aid after striking the victim. The driver fled the scene.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
