Suspect Arrested in Large Narcotics Investigation NR22387am

December 23, 2022

Granada Hills: On December 21, 2022, Devonshire Narcotics Enforcement Detail (NED) arrested 37-year-old Casey Linder, a resident of Los Angeles during a narcotics investigation.

In November 2022, narcotics officers received an anonymous tip of a possible illegal marijuana cultivation in the 16500 block of Hiawatha Street. On December 21, 2022, officers investigated and contacted Casey Linder, the residents of the location. Officers believed that narcotics manufacturing was occurring at the residence. A search warrant was obtained for the residence which revealed a Psilocybin (hallucinogenic mushrooms) grow in a backyard shed. Inside the shed was an access point to an underground bunker, approximately 12 feet underground. The bunker contained a Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) and a Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) extraction lab. The Los Angeles Police Department, Gang and Narcotics (GND) Lab Squad was notified and responded to further inspect the lab. Due to the unknown structural integrity of the bunker, the Los Angeles Fire Department Urban Search and Rescue (LAFD) responded to assist GND with safely entering and exiting the tight confines of the lab, and extracting all items contained within. A search of the house and lab revealed eight handguns, two shotguns, four rifles, approximately 8 lbs. of methamphetamine, 3.6 lbs. of cannabis, 8 liters of GHB, 1 ounce of heroin, 2.1 ounces of fentanyl, 25 DMT pills, 1.8 grams of alprazolam, and 21 strips of suboxone.

Casey Linder was arrested for 11379.6 (A) H &S- Manufacture Controlled Substance and booked at Van Nuys Jail. His bail was set at $75,000.00. Booking #6522060. Detectives will submit the investigation to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
