Suspect Arrested Inside Residence of 86-Year-Old Victim NR25098cm

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Operation West Bureau Special Assault Section detectives announce the arrest of a 39-year-old male on Ocean Front Walk.

On April 30, 2025, around 8:30 a.m., Pacific Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a burglary suspect in the 100 block of Ocean Front Walk. The person reporting the incident had called police after viewing surveillance video of a male entering the building with an 86-year-old female resident. Upon arriving at the location, officers detained the male suspect inside the female victim’s apartment.

During the investigation, officers discovered evidence that suggested the suspect intended to assault the victim. Operation West Bureau Special Assault Section detectives responded to the scene and assumed investigative responsibility of the incident.

The suspect was identified as 39-year-old Marcus Penn, a resident of Los Angeles. Penn was arrested for 220 (b) PC: Assault with the Intent to Commit a Felony during a Burglary, with booking number 7007708 and $2,050,000.00 bail.
