Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Major Crimes Division announce the arrest of an arsonist in the Eagle Rock Area.
On December 15, 2024, around 4:55 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a rubbish fire that exposed a commercial building, the Lako Boxing Club, located on the 4400 block of Eagle Rock Boulevard. A joint investigation by the LAPD Major Crimes Division and the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Arson Counter-Terrorism Section identified a woman in her 40’s from the Eagle Rock area as the individual responsible for the arson.
On December 19, 2024, the suspect, who was identified as 48-year-old Marvella Salomon, was detained as a person of interest for the arson by Northeast Division Patrol Officers. The officers recognized her from a wanted flyer prepared by Major Crimes Division Detectives.
Major Crimes Division Detectives arrested Salomon for the December 15th arson. She was arrested for 451(c) Arson of a structure and 451(d) Arson of personal property. Her total bail was set at $125,000.00. Salomon remains in custody, and her booking number is 6938461.
