"Suspect Sought after Attempt Rape"

Los Angeles – On Thursday, April 13, 2000 at 3:00 PM, a male Hispanic suspect approached the home of a 39 year-old-female, in the area of 43rd Place and Central Avenue. The suspect knocked on the victim’s front door and stated he was collecting money to cover funeral costs for a child that had died in the local area. The suspect then forced himself inside the victim’s home and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim managed to free herself from the suspect. The suspect then ran away from the location in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 35 to 40 years old, 5′ 2" to 5′ 3", 160 lbs, with black receding hair. The suspect was wearing a gray shirt with a "low rider" emblem and an image of a female on it. The suspect spoke to the victim in Spanish and had a "clean cut" appearance.
