Suspect Wanted for the Murder of Newborn, $50,000 Reward Offered

December 20, 2005

Los Angeles: Detectives from Juvenile Division are seeking the public’s help in solving a year old homicide that involved a newborn baby girl.

On the morning of December 21, 2004, a maintenance worker found the dead body of a newborn baby girl in a crawl space under a building of an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Wynwood Lane.

A preliminary examination determined the body of baby Jane Doe had been under the apartment between one and seven days and a plastic bag was possibly used to conceal the baby.

The ethnicity of baby Jane Doe hasn’t been determined and investigators are following a number of leads in an effort to identify the mother of the child.

Current Mayor and former Los Angeles City Councilman Antonio Villaraigosa offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of all the suspects in this case.
