Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in a string of armed robberies across Los Angeles County.
Jaquis Maurice Dukes, 20, is suspected in robbing the same Burger King restaurant, 10 days apart. The Burger King, at 304 West Century Boulevard, was robbed on September 12, and again on September 22. Police arrested the driver of the getaway car for one of the robberies.
Detectives were able to identify Dukes as the armed suspect who entered the business both times. They have since linked Dukes to as many as seven other Burger King robberies across Los Angeles County.
“We suspect Dukes may have been involved in even more robberies,” said Detective Gerardo Pantoja of the Southeast Police Station. “We’re asking for any other victims to come forward if they recognize Dukes, and we hope someone who knows him will tell us where we can find him before he strikes again.”
Dukes is Black, 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighs 150 pounds. He is a local gang member and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Pantoja at 213-972-7932. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
