Suspects Arrested for the Murder of 21-Year-Old NR16151aj

Harbor City: Los Angeles Police Department Harbor Homicide detectives, with the assistance of Harbor Gang Unit, arrested the suspects who were responsible for the murder of 21-year-old Shailo Leafa.

On March 5, 2014, around 9:40 p.m., Shailo Leafa was sitting with two friends near a parking lot in the 25800 block of South Western Avenue in Harbor City. Three suspects approached them on foot and fired several rounds striking Leafa and one of the other two victims. The suspects then fled the location.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported Leafa and the other victim to a local hospital for medical treatment. A short time later, Leafa died as a result of his wounds.

On April 28, 2016, Harbor Homicide with the assistance of the Harbor Gang Unit, arrested David Lee Allen and Khalif Azon Ferguson for the murder of Shailo Leafa. On May 2, 2016, the District Attorney filed 1 count of Murder and 2 counts of Attempt Murder on these two individuals. The third suspect was apprehended on May 3, 2016 by Gang and Narcotics Division personnel and filing is pending.
