Why:
To announce the arrest of three suspects who have been charged in the murder of James Shamp who was killed on December 22, 2008 at about 8 p.m.  Shamp was at work at the Canoga Bowl when he was shot and killed in the parking lot, simply because he was Black. Due to the heinous nature of the crime, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has filed three allegations of special circumstance murder and a decision will be made at a later date as to whether the office will seek the death penalty.
