WHY:    
On Thursday July 15, 2010, the body of an adult male was discovered around 4:15 a.m., along the northbound lanes of Highway 101, near Highway 1 exit, on the Nojoqui Grade in the County of Santa Barbara.  The body was burned beyond recognition.

A joint investigation was launched to positively identify the victim and to investigate the circumstances surrounding its discovery.  Several particulars of the investigation, including the victim’s identity, will be revealed at the News Conference.
