"Tip a Cop; LAPD Officers Wait Tables To Benefit The Jeopardy Anti-Gang Program"
 
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department Operations Valley Bureau, in support of the Jeopardy "Balancing the Odds" Foundation, Inc., invites the public to the 4th Annual "Tip A Cop Day" on Tuesday, May 13, 2003, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The 4th Annual "Tip a Cop" event is slated to raise $10,000 for the Jeopardy "Balancing the Odds" program in Foothill and Van Nuys Areas of the Los Angeles Police Department, Operations-Valley Bureau. Command Staff, Police Officers and Detective volunteers will assist the regular servers at the Acapulco Restaurant and Cantina located at 8431 Sunland Boulevard in Sun Valley and Lulu’s Café located at 16900 Roscoe Boulevard in Van Nuys.
Captain Kirk Albanese and other members of the command staff of Foothill Area will work as "celebrity servers."
Jeopardy " Balancing the Odds" is a front-end gang intervention unit of the Los Angeles Police Department Operations Valley Bureau, supported by the Jeopardy "Balancing the Odds" Foundation. Proceeds and donations from Tuesdays "Tip a Cop" day will be used for such important activities such as recreational (supervised) programs, remedial education, personal enrichment, individual counseling for juveniles, and parenting assistance for their families.
