"Traffic Collision in Northeast Kills Passenger"
 

Los Angeles – On Sunday, May 6, 2001, at approximately 1:15 A.M., 26 year old Daniel Ernesto Molina was driving a 1988 Nissan Sentra, southbound on Mariposa Avenue. From witness accounts, Molina failed to stop for a posted stop sign at Fountain Avenue and collided with a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero, driven by 31 year old Hasmig Madjarian of Los Angeles.
Molina’s passenger suffered major trauma to his head and chest. He was transported USC Los Angeles County Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Notification of next of kin is pending.
Molina fled the scene, but was later returned by a close family friend. Molina was then arrested for Vehicular Manslaughter.
Molina and Madjarian suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
