Traffic Collision Leaves One Dead and the Driver on the Loose NR14389sm

North Hollywood: Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division Detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect involved in a hit and run collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

On Saturday, October 18, 2014, around 2:15 a.m. Valley Traffic Division Officers responded to a hit and run traffic collision that occurred in the 7300 block of Lankershim Boulevard.

The suspect’s vehicle, a newer white Mercedes Benz, was traveling northbound in the number two lane when it collided with a 48-year-old female who was pushing a shopping cart in a northeast direction.

The driver of the Mercedes Benz continued driving northbound and then eastbound Valerio Street, failing to stop at scene, identify itself and render aid, in violation of 20001 VC, Hit and Run Felony.  

The 48 year-old female was pronounced dead at scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. The name of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.  

Valley Traffic Detectives are looking for additional witnesses who may have seen this collision.
