Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division Detectives are investigating a traffic collision related death.
On Saturday, January 4, 2003, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Terri Lascuran, a 40 year-old resident of Castaic was driving a 1998 Dodge Caravan northbound on Woodley Avenue, behind another northbound vehicle, when the vehicle in front of her swerved to avoid an object lying in the roadway. Ms. Lascuran was unable to stop and ran over the object, which was later identified as Benjamin Gonzales, a 38 year-old resident of Van Nuys, who was lying in the roadway on a bicycle.
Benjamin Gonzales was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown why Mr. Gonzales was lying in the roadway.
