Two Men Shot, One Dead

Los Angeles: Two Men waiting for a taxi in the Rampart Area, were shot Saturday afternoon.

On October 6, 2007, at about 3:30 p.m., Rampart officers responded to a shooting call at the 200 block of North Kenmore Avenue. Upon arrival the officers found two victims with multiple gunshot wounds to their upper torsos.

Investigators said that the victims were waiting for a taxi when the suspects drove up in a dark-colored  sports utility vehicle. The victim approached the SUV believing it was their taxi and the suspect shot both victims.

The victims were taken to a local hospital and underwent emergency surgery. One victim, a 22-year-old Hispanic man, died during surgery. His name is being withheld pending notification of next  kin. The other victim, a 30-year-old male Hispanic, was listed in critical but stable condition.

Detectives do not have any suspect information or motive for this shooting.
