Chatsworth: On September 3, 2025, around 5:30 a.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Devonshire Area responded to a radio call of a “Dead Body” near Lassen Street and Canoga Avenue. When they arrived, officers found a man lying in a driveway apron with multiple traumatic injuries.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
LAPD Valley Bureau Homicide detectives assumed investigative responsibility. Evidence at the scene, along with surveillance video, revealed that the victim had been intentionally struck by a vehicle, which then fled the area. While the victim’s injuries were consistent with being hit by a vehicle, detectives noted he may have sustained additional injuries of undetermined cause.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The suspect or suspects remain at large. Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses, evidence, and additional surveillance footage.
