Van Nuys Area ” “Toys on Patrol”

WHAT: The Los Angeles Police Department’s 2019 Van Nuys Area Holiday Toy Giveaway – “Toys on Patrol” Officers will be conducting a live televised interview with Univision promoting the 6th Annual, “Toys on Patrol” Toy Drive and Car Show benefiting the children in the less fortunate neighborhoods of the Van Nuys Community.

WHEN: Sunday, December 15, 2019 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

WHERE: Van Nuys Area Community Police Station 62240 Sylmar Avenue Van Nuys, CA 91401 Erwin Street Mall Courtyard

WHO: Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Maria Pedroza Van Nuys Community Relations Office (VNY CRO) CRO officers Francisco De Jesus and Evlin Akserelian

WHY: This program was established by officer De Jesus and officer Akserelian working as Jeopardy Program officers with school administrative staff and children in the community. It was inspired by the positive reaction from both children and their families thereby creating a stronger bond between officers and the Van Nuys Community. It has grown every year for the past five years. Officer De Jesus has worked in partnership with the local businesses, schools, and the community to make, “Toys on Patrol” grow for the benefit of the children that officers encounter daily in the course of their duties.
