Van Nuys Armed Robbery Shown On Surveillance Tape

Los Angeles: Two men who robbed a Van Nuys “Jack-In-The Box” restaurant last week were recorded by on-site surveillance cameras.

On Thursday, October 27, 2005, at about 10:20 p.m., two male Black suspects entered the restaurant at 6351 North Sepulveda Boulevard. The suspects were armed with what appeared to be blue steel handguns. The tape shows the first suspect jumping the restaurant counter and directing an employee to the office, where he demanded that she open the safe. The first suspect then removed money from the safe. The second suspect stood guard in front of the cash register, then demanded the money from the register. The suspects fled on foot with approximately $500.

The suspects were 2 male Blacks, 18-20 years of age. Both had black hair, brown eyes, were 5’8″-5’9″ in height, and weighed approximately 170-180 lbs. The first suspect was of muscular build, wore a black bandana on his head, and had a goatee.
