"VAN NUYS FAMILY VICTIMS OF HOME INVASION ROBBERY"

Van Nuys, Calif.: On Monday, February 7, 2000, at approximately 9:05 p.m., a Vietnamese family, ages ranging from 13-51 years old, were inside their residence located on the 17500 block of Sherman Way when an unknown individual knocked on the door. Upon opening the door, a lone male suspect, possible of Cambodian decent, armed with a handgun, entered the home. The suspect ordered the victim to the floor and an undetermined number of other suspects also entered the home. The suspects ripped the telephone cords from the wall to prevent the victims from calling police, ransacked the residence and took an unknown amount of jewelry and money. None of the family members were injured during the robbery.

The Los Angeles Police Department, Asian Crime Unit, is investigating this incident.
