"Victim Dies from Gunshot Wounds in Rampart Area"

Los Angeles – Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of an unidentified 33-year-old Caucasian male.

On Sunday, April 30, 2000, at approximately 5:30 A.M., residents of the area of 1109 South Lake Street heard gunshots being fired in the street. They observed the victim down and called the police. Rampart Area Patrol officers responded to the location and found the unidentified Caucasian male shot in the street in front of 1109 South Lake Street. Paramedics arrived at the location and found that the victim had received multiple gunshot wounds to the legs and torso. The victim expired from his wounds at the scene.

A motive for this crime has not been established. The weapon used is believed to be a medium caliber handgun. Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to contact Rampart Homicide Detectives at 213-207-2051.
