"Victim Found Dead in Parking Lot"

Los Angeles – On Friday, April 21, 2000, at approximately 7:30 am, a 56 year-old man, who’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was found dead from a gunshot wound in the parking lot to the rear of 4016 S. Central Ave. Residents in the area observed the body and notified the police.

A single gunshot was heard in the area at approximately 3:00 am, nothing else was seen or heard that was out of the ordinary.

The victim had been sleeping in a vehicle in the parking lot for the past several weeks, providing security for local business.

No motive or suspect (s) information is available at this time.

The Homicide investigation is being conducted by Newton Area Detectives.
