Victim Gets Shot and is Discovered Several Hours Later in Devonshire Area

On January 25, 1999, at 6:40 a.m., Devonshire Area officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a man down inside a parked station wagon, adjacent to an elementary school in the 8800 block of Langdon Avenue. Paramedics discovered the victim had been shot in the upper body and he was transported to Holy Cross Hospital, where he remains in extremely critical condition.

Devonshire Area Homicide personnel responded and conducted the crime scene investigation. The detectives surmised the victim was shot while seated inside his vehicle in the 8800 block of Orion Avenue. The victim attempted to flee from the attack and his vehicle collided with several parked cars. The victim traveled one block east, onto Langdon Avenue, where his vehicle came to rest. Officers canvassed the neighborhood for potential witnesses. The shooting is believed to have occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m., however, the victim was not discovered until several hours later.

The victim is a twenty six year old male. His name is being withheld pending notification.

Devonshire Homicide Detectives are handling the investigation.
