Victims Shot While Pleading For Their Lives; One Dead

Los Angeles: Southwest Area Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of 38 year-old Lautricia D. Issiah of Los Angeles.
On Sunday, May 4, 2003, at approximately 2:35 a.m., Issiah and her companion were approached by the suspect while visiting together at Martin Luther King Park located at 3905 South Western Avenue.
The suspect, for no apparent reason approached and shot Issiah and her companion as they pleaded for their lives. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Issiah dead as a result of her wounds. The surviving victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released for a gunshot wound.
The suspect is described as a male Black, 5’9 to 5’10, 145lbs to 150lbs, 18 to 20 years of age. The motive for this shooting is unknown at this time.
