August 15, 2019

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Area are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for a home invasion that left one person shot.

On August 9, 2019, around 4:00 p.m., Central Area officers responded to an “ADW Shots Fired” radio call at a large multi-unit apartment complex located on the 600 block of South Spring Street. Upon arrival, they were led to a male victim lying on a sofa in the lobby suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital. After undergoing surgery, the victim is in stable condition.

The investigation revealed that the victim and a friend were in an apartment at the location when five male Blacks entered, pepper sprayed them, bound them, and ultimately shot the victim. The suspects remove an unknown quantity of cannabis and money, then fled the location. It is believed that the apartment where this occurred is part of an illegal cannabis enterprise. Detectives at scene recovered over 100 pounds of cannabis and a large quantity of concentrated cannabis oil.
