Wilmington Man Struck and Killed Crossing Street

Los Angeles:  An unidentified pedestrian crossing the street in Wilmington Tuesday evening was killed by a vehicle that failed to stop after hitting him.
On Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the victim, an unidentified male Hispanic, was walking northbound on Pacific Coast Highway at Gulf Street.  The vehicle, a dark blue or black 1990s Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), struck him as it traveled westbound. 
The man was transported by paramedics to Harbor General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.  His next of kin will be notified once the Los Angeles County Coroner determines his identity.
