Woman Critically Injured in Hit and Run Traffic Collision NR15066SF

Los Angeles: On March 1, 2015, around 7:35 a.m., a 65-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Pasadena Avenue and Avenue 21 in Hollenbeck Division.

The collision occurred when the driver of a car, described as an older model dark gray BMW, swerved from the #2 lane into the #1 lane of traffic while traveling southbound on Pasadena Avenue. The victim was crossing the street outside of the marked crosswalk when the car struck her. The driver of the car failed to stop or render aid to the pedestrian as required by law.

The victim sustained numerous injuries including a fractured pelvis, a dislocated left leg, abrasions to her right knee, and a fractured skull. She was transported by Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Detectives from Central Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help to provide information about the traffic collision or the identification of the driver.
