"Woman Fatally Shot on Crenshaw Boulevard"

Wilshire – On Sunday, June 18, 2000, at approximately 3:15 a.m. in the 1800 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, a 21-year-old female was fatally shot. While attending a party, the victim engaged in a verbal dispute with a Black male in front of the location. During the argument, the male removed a handgun and shot the victim in the upper portion of her body. The suspect fled the location in an unidentified vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle; however, she died as a result of her injuries.

Associates of the victim pursued associates of the suspect. During the pursuit a fierce gun battle ensued between the individuals. There was no evidence of injury resulting from the shoot out.

The motive for this incident has not been determined.
