"Woman Found Dead Inside Trunk of Vehicle"

Panorama City – On Saturday, March 4, 2000 at 10:35 a.m., Devonshire Area patrol officers responded to a radio call regarding a possible stolen/recovered vehicle that was parked to the rear of an apartment complex located at 9404 Van Nuys Blvd. The officers approached the vehicle and observed one of the windows shattered. Further evidence observed within the interior of the vehicle suggested foul play. The officers opened the truck and discovered the lifeless body of a female Hispanic, in her early 20’s, inside the trunk. The officers secured the crime scene and Devonshire Homicide personnel responded. Due to the anticipated inclement weather, the vehicle was impounded to a secured facility for processing, and to allow the Los Angeles County Coroner to recover the body.

The decedent’s identity has not been confirmed and the cause of death has not been fully established. Very little regarding the circumstances of the victim’s demise is known at this time. The motive for the murder is unknown and the identity and number of possible involved suspects are unknown. The investigation is being continued by Devonshire Homicide personnel.
