Woman Killed in San Pedro NR12504rh

Los Angeles:  On Friday, November 2, 2012, around 10:30 p.m., Harbor Area Patrol Officers responded to a radio call, in the 3100 block of Almeria Street in the city of San Pedro.  The victim, 45-year-old Michelle Stamper and the suspect, 55-year-old Johnny O’Kane were in a dating relationship.  The victim and suspect were involved in a dispute.  O’Kane shot Stamper and then turned the gun on himself.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced Stamper.  O’Kane was transported to a local hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound.

The motive for the shooting is a domestic dispute.  The investigation is ongoing.
