Los Angeles: On Saturday morning, a partygoer was shot and killed at a home in Woodland Hills.
At about 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, West Valley officers responded to an "Ambulance Shooting" radio call in the 4400 block of San Blas Avenue . When the officers arrived at the scene, they saw many young adults and juveniles running from the house.
When they went into the home, they found 26-year-old Jaime Galindo Chavez, a resident of Reseda, lying on the floor of the living room with multiple gunshots to the upper body. Chavez was treated by Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics but was pronounced dead at the location.
West Valley Homicide Detectives conducting the investigation have determined that more than 200 young adults and teenagers, many of them gang members, attended the house party. During the party, an argument occurred and the suspect, described as a male Hispanic, approximately 20-years-old, pulled a gun from his waistband and shot Chavez. After shooting Chavez, the suspect began shooting indiscriminately at the crowd of onlookers and struck four more people.
Two of the additional victims were transported to local hospitals and were admitted in critical condition. Two other partygoers were treated and released from area hospitals.
