Commission Investigation Division (CID) is the regulatory arm of the Board of Police Commissioners (Board) and is comprised of five sections:

  • Administrative Section;
  • Charitable Services Section;
  • Investigative Enforcement Section (Noise Enforcement Team, Private Patrol Service and Street Patrol Officer);
  • Office Police Garage Section (Valet and Auto Park Section); and
  • Permit Processing Section

By Ordinance, CID is responsible for the processing, issuance, investigation, enforcement and discipline of all permits issued by the Board. The Board issues over 60 various permits for businesses requiring regulation; such as massage establishments and therapist, café entertainment establishments, tow unit operations and operators, valet operations and operators, carnivals, dance halls, pool rooms, etc.
